Daily life moves at warp speed and hearing aid wearers sometimes find that their devices are not performing as well as they once used to. There are a number of reasons your hearing aids may not be working properly, but these can often be remedied with a trip to your audiologist. At Audiology and Hearing Solutions, we are knowledgeable and equipped to handle many different hearing aid repairs onsite.
Minor hearing aid repairs
Because several different factors can impact the performance of your hearing aids, it’s important to have them checked out by a professional. Like any precision device, hearing aids need maintenance. And, they are very small, with tiny parts and hair-thin wiring. The constant use and removal of a hearing aid can reduce its effectiveness.
In the event there are other issues present, our audiologists will be able to evaluate the problems and either complete or recommend the best repairs. For minor issues like sticky battery doors, cracked tubing or clogged ports, we can perform these repairs onsite and reduce the amount of time you have to be without your devices.
Major device repairs
If your hearing aids have suffered severe damage or are more than three to five years old, it’s possible your devices may need to be sent to the manufacturer for repairs. Because hearing aids are constantly evolving, the tiny components needed to keep them functioning may not be readily available. Or, if your hearing aids have been exposed to excessive moisture or are cracked, they may need more major repairs, which will often be sent to the manufacturer as well.
Even if your hearing aids need to be sent to the manufacturer, the staff at Audiology and Hearing Solutions will communicate and work as a liaison to ensure you understand where your hearing aids are and how long they will be out for repairs. We also offer loaner hearing aids for you to use while your hearing aids are out for repair, so you will never be without your hearing.
